Nutrition for improved performance and better recovery

Intensive training and competitions deplete energy reserves and weaken the muscles. A targeted diet increases performance and can significantly reduce recovery times. For optimal regeneration after prolonged endurance exercise, the body should ideally be supplied with carbohydrates and proteins in a ratio of approximately 3:1 to 4:1. Carbohydrate intake replenishes glycogen stores, while proteins support muscle maintenance and recovery. Micronutrients such as vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients supplement and complete the formulations.

For shorter, less energy-intensive but musculature-straining activities, or during calorie-restricted phases, it may be advisable to reduce the carbohydrate content slightly. Depending on the individual situation, pure protein products may even be used for regeneration. This depends on the post-exercise diet and, if applicable, specific metabolic and nutritional goals. Endurance athletes in particular often underestimate their protein requirements and associate protein supplementation with muscle growth and strength training, forgetting its importance for muscle maintenance.

The wide range of recovery products from SPONSER includes various forms such as drinks/shakes, recovery bars and additional supplements.
